This story is dedicated to the one person who has changed my life in SO many ways. He may be four states away, but not in spirit and heart. Mighty, you are a true friend, comrade, and fiancee', and I want you to know, I'd walk the world over just to get you a blade of grass that you wanted. Thank you Mighty Fox... Author's Note: This story takes place in the alternate time frame. In this time frame, Vixie was five when Robotnik took over, making her sixteen to this day. PLEASE REMEMBER, a 9 year old and a 16 year old would NOT kiss like the foxes in this story, okay? So get yer mind outta the gutter! "Well, let's see what we have on the agenda today," said the vixen, "Kung-Fu at 5:45, target practice at 6:30, and dinner with Mighty at seven. Perfect!" Vixie Lamenta was walking over to the counter in her kitchen, getting some alfalfa sprouts. She was preparing a giant meal for Mighty Fox, and she got only the best ingredients. She and Mighty ate very healthy, except when Vixie had her occasional chili dog, so she was making a raw garden salad. Humming the lullaby her father had used to put her to sleep, she began to mix her special dressing. Cooking was one of her favorite things to do, and she always hummed when she did so. The clock on the wall struck 5:40 and she ran up to her room. Putting on her gray T-shirt and black gi pants, she kneeled on the floor. Carefully she knotted her sash. 'Wrap it twice, pull left side over and under and cross the right over left.' she thought. By the time she was done, she ran outside to see Bunnie, her Sensai. "All-right, sugar-fox. Y'all do sum stretchin' and then we'll get started." the cy-bunny smiled. "Yes ma'am." replied Vixie and began to jog in place. Vixie went through some sparring techniques with her mentor, and then practiced her forms. Northern One was almost finished, and Vixie put every ounce of effort into it. She went through all she knew and then asked Bunnie for the rest. Before they knew it, it was 6:30, and Rotor was coming over to tell Vixie about his new invention. Bunnie smiled and kissed her suitor on the cheek. "Well, sugar, wha'd y'all do this tahm?" she asked. "I've invented a new device for target practice sessions. It records the amount of time from when the target dummy appears to when it gets hit. When Swat-bots notice you, it usually takes them three seconds to fire, so it will divide the time it's been up by three to tell you how many times it would have fired at you before you hit it." Rotor said proudly. Bunnie stood there bewildered. "What th' hoo-haw are y'all talkin' about?" she whispered with a smile. Rotor gave her a look which said 'I'll explain later'. "Good invention, Rote! IÕll be honored to try it," Vixie bowed to Bunnie, "I must go for now! There's target practice to attend to, and to shoot targets, you must acquire a weapon!" The vixen bowed to Bunnie again and ran off to get her bracelet. "Oh my stars, Rotor. Where does she get all this energy?" "Don't ask me!" Rotor laughed. "Wow! Flawless again! You haven't been hit once." Rotor said, scratching his brow. "Yeee-hah!" bellowed the fox. "Good job, my vixen!" said a voice from behind them. Vixie looked at her watch. Seven after seven! She was late! "Oh, Mighty! I'm SO sorry!" Vixie said, walking to her love. "It's quite okay! I was just on my way to your place anyway!" said Mighty. "You were? Phew! Well, at least you weren't waiting long." sighed the vixen. "Well, any wait is worth it, as long as it involves you." Mighty said, looking in her eyes. They were about to engage in a kiss when Rotor interrupted them. "Well, I'm gonna go home! See ya tomorrow you two!" Rotor said, waving. He then walked towards his hut. "What's with all this training, my love?" said Mighty, leaning his forehead on hers. "I need it. Robotnik isn't getting any easier to beat, ya know." Vixie smiled shyly. "Well, you're right on that," said the fox, and tapped his vixen lightly on the nose, "now let's have some salad!" he smiled, and put his arm around Vixie. "I made you a wonderful garden salad!" said Vixie, as they walked towards her hut. "Oh yeah?" "Mm-hmm," Vixie said, nodding, "I put three kinds of lettuce in it." "Sounds good! Can't wait to taste it." Mighty Fox said, patting his now growling stomach. "That was a GREAT dinner Vixie!" Mighty said, as he helped the vixen do the dishes. "Why thank you, my charming prince!" giggled the vixen, who went in for a little nose rub. "I don't want you guys staying up late on that computer!" said an older voice. "We know, Sasha. Say...when IS that hut of yours gonna be finished?" Mighty said, looking feigningly thoughtful. "Mighty! Ya know, I still am mad at you for not following my orders!" Sasha said, referring to Mighty's healed legs. "Yesh-um!" Mighty said, taking a step back. Sasha Prower just laughed and walked into the living room. After Vixie and Mighty finished washing plates, they went into the den. In the den, there was a computer, a pillowy sofa, a desk, a fireplace, bookshelves with numerous scrolls and manuscripts on them, and red drapes on the small window. On top of the computer, Vixie had put her desk lamp, which she had salvaged from the wreckage of her old home in Northbreeze. She and Mighty both sat down, and Vixie turned the lamp on. "Now let's see. You're making a decrypting program, I hear? Let's see what you've got." began Mighty. Mighty then proceeded to type in a few commands to show the functions in the program. "Very good," said Mighty, rubbing his chin, "Magnetic disablers that will erase whatever Robotnik holds on hard drive, a secrecy program to erase record of entry, Swat-bot ordering functions...Wow, Vix...How'd you learn this much?" "Sally taught me it." said the vixen, beaming. "Everything?" "Well, the secrecy program I made myself, but everything else, pure 'Hooked on Sally'!" smiled Vixie. "Well, you've done an excellent job for a beginner!" said Mighty. "Hey, when ya got it, flaunt it!" the vixen said. "That's your catchphrase!" Mighty smiled. "I know," Vixie said, turning back to the screen, "Okay, the aglorythmic frequencies divided over the square root of 'pi' 'r' squared, should give us what we need to complete this." "True, but have you processed the interface code?" Mighty asked. "Yes. Only thing is, I need to find a sequence initiative program that will help me open the input." Vixie and Mighty pondered long and hard over the program when finally, Sasha came in. "Look, I hate to play the parent, but since Rosie isn't here, I guess I have no choice. You guys need to get off the computer now." Vixie yawned and moved over to shut off the power to her computer. "This WAS getting a little boring." she said. "True, but at least we got to spend time together!" said Mighty. "Well, letÕs continue that time! Care to read a book?" she said, snatching her favorite 'Swords and Sorcerers' book. Sasha rolled her eyes and walked off to fetch herself a carrot. "Okay...let's see...oh, here we are!" Vixie said, turning to the page. Together they sat in front of the fireplace. MIghty started the fire, while Vixie got a blanket. "Katera and Ogol lay in the dungeon of the giant gnoll, Guntor..." "... ' 'We may have freed the city of Antahre, Ogol, but this isn't the end of our battle yet.' said the adventuress, sticking her blade in the ground. From that day foward, the sword lay there, waiting for someone to discover it anew...The End.' " said the vixen, closing the book. "Wonderful book, I must say." Mighty said, looking at his girl. "Oh, handsome Prince Mighty of Knothole, rescue me," gibed the vixen, "The evil Guntor is after me!" Sensing his cue, Mighty got to his feet, and pull up his fair maiden in distress. "Fear not, delicate damsel, for I, Mighty of Knothole, shall save you!" "My hero!" Vixie said in a whisper, hiding a giggle. "My lady." bowed Mighty Fox. "And now," Vixie said slyly, "your reward..." and with that, she proceeded to kiss Mighty. Mighty returned it with mutual feelings. Unfortunately, Sonic and Sally witnessed it. "Whoa!" Sonic said, looking into the den. Sasha pushed by him. "Ah-hem..." she interuppted. Still kissing, Vixie and Mighty opened their eyes and turned them towards the healer mage. Breaking off, Vixie managed a little 'oops'. "I think you should be getting to bed, Vixie Lamenta." said Sasha. "Oh great! Ya know, Sash', just because you're two years older doesn't mean you're my mother! Heck, you don't do this to Sonic and Sally!" "Well, either way, you still need to get to bed. The Princess came by to tell you that we will be leaving on an expedition to Eastbane tomorrow. You and Mighty are assigned to the job of finding the rune of magic. We expect you up at 8:00am sharp, so Mighty, you need to go to bed too." Sasha said. Mighty folded his arms and boasted. "I NEVER sleep!" he said haughtily. "Well, tonight, you do." said Sasha. Mighty hugged Vixie and trudged out of the room, tail dragging on the ground. "Mighty Fox, quit acting like a child!" laughed Sasha. Mighty turned around and smiled. "Am I a good actor or what?" It was 7:55 when Vixie and Mighty arrived at the meeting pole. Sasha, Sally, Bunnie, and Sonic were all packed up. "Hey guys!" Mighty said, waving. "Hiya, lovebirds!" Bunnie giggled. Vixie leaned on her love's arm. "Knock it off, Bun!" She smiled. "Hey sugar! I can't help it! Pokin' fun at ya is my life." Bunnie winked. "You need to get out more Bunnie!" Vixie said, winking back. The two foxes got ready and soon the entire troupe was off. This is it... I hoped ya liked it. I like this alternate timeline. In it, Mighty and Vixie are their normal age, Bunnie and Vixie are best good friends, and everyone can kiss without people thinking things!!! ;, Peace Love REcycle! E=mc2 + Love + Lightning = 2 guys dancing! -Vixie
